Did you know that most retinal disorders don’t show any symptoms until they have caused at least some vision loss? An optomap allows your eye doctor to provide you with the most comprehensive eye exam possible, by capturing more than 80% of your retina in one image. When detected early, many retinal problems can be treated to prevent vision loss.
Corneal topography is a special photography technique that maps the surface of the clear, front window of the eye (the cornea). It works much like a 3D (three-dimensional) map of the world, that helps identify features like mountains and valleys. It is used to best fit contact lenses and to diagnose vision threatening conditions such as kerataconus.
They Myah is a multifunctional instrument. It helps with diagnosing and managing dry eye disease. It provides information related to trouble with night vision but most importantly, it measures the length of the eye. This can act as a predictor of the start or worsening of myopia (nearsightedness). This is extremely important since myopia can be slowed down or even stopped in some cases with proper treatment.
In a traditional eye exam, the patient is tested to see if they are near or farsighted. That comes from the shape of the eye & steepness/flatness of the cornea. What is not tested is how the eyes work together. If the eye teaming and focusing, among other things, is not adequate, it could lead to vision related learning disorders as well as migraines and motion sickness.
